Gold Student

The Advanced (Gold) Level is designed to continue from where the Intermediate (Silver) Level ends.

At this level, we will begin to learn many different advanced picking techniques, scales, and chords used in all different genres of modern music. The guitar has evolved drastically over the years and we want to give our students the most up to date methods in order to maximize playability, and creativity. We will also begin to cover scales outside of Diatonic, and host composition lessons for students who are interested in writing their own music.

As a new Advanced Level student, here are a few things you can do to prepare for your first lesson:

-Have a playable Acoustic or Electric Guitar.

-Have a tuner.

-Understand knowledge of Chords/Scales.

-Be able to play strum patterns and different picking techniques.

-Understand how to mute properly.

-Have a willingness to learn.

-Dedicate time to consistent practice.

At the Advanced (Gold) Level, we will take your knowledge of scales, chords, picking techniques, music theory, etc., and bring them to their full potential. Also, we will host composition lessons for students interested in creating their own music.

Brief Course Description

The 7 Modes

We will cover what the 7 Modes of music are how they relate to all music and composition. Students will devote all modes to memory, and begin to learn many different ways the modes have been applied throughout history.

Advanced Picking Techniques

With the evolution of the guitar, many different picking styles and techniques have surfaced to offer a vast variety in playing style and sound. Some examples of these are Cross-Picking, Hybrid-Picking, Pivot-Point, and more.

Advanced Chords/ Scales

By this time we are aware of the vast variety of different chord types. From 7th chords, 9th chords, 11th chords, and 13th chords to Augmented, Diminished, and Suspended chords; we will educate you on all chord types you wish to pursue for your style of music. We will also begin to learn scales outside of Diatonic, such as Harmonic Minor and Natural Minor.

Composition

For students interested in creating works of art through the power of music, we will begin to host composition lessons in order to teach you different methods on how you can take your musical ideas, and build a song out of them. By balancing rhythms, melodies, and harmonies, we can help show you how to create your music your way.
